Beskrivning: A week into Rose Weasley's seventh year a girl is found dead in the Forbidden Forest. The Aurors determines it as a suicide, but is it really?

Gina Montgomery was found dead on the 7th of September 2023. She'd been missing for almost three months; since a week before summer vacation. Gina had been like a celebrity, everyone at the school knew who she was. People loved to hate her and hated to love her. Gina was the Queen Bee.

Rose Weasley had never been very close to Gina. Sure they'd talked a few times, but mostly because they had shared some mutual friends. Gina had been in Slytherin and to her, everything had been a game. She saw people as her dolls and the world like her private dollhouse. Gina was unpredictable, fierce and absolutely gorgeous. She looked like she'd stepped right out of the pages of a fashion magazine. She was tall, her skin was flawless and her hair was always shiny and perfectly wavy. It didn't matter whether she'd just stepped out of bed, no one could match her beauty.

“So?” Albus whispered, snapping Rose out of her thoughts.

“So, what?” Rose replied, pretending to be busy flipping through her potions book.

“Who do you think killed her?” he whispered, lowering his voice as he leaned in closer to her. “Bet it was Eric Colden.” He nodded once towards the boy sitting in the farthest corner of the classroom. Rose glanced at him over her shoulder and accidentally locked eyes with him for a second. She quickly faced forward again.

“That's a rather big assumption to make”, Rose replied and snapped her book closed. “Besides, the Aurors said it was a suicide.”

Albus looked like he was about to retort when Professor Martin clapped his hands to gain their attention. “Alright guys, this year is going to start off a little different”, he said and a ripple of anticipation spread through the class.

Mr Martin had only been their professor for a semester, but everyone loved him. He was young and fun and way better than Horace Slughorn whom had retired last year. Moreover, he was hot and half the girls at the school had already developed a crush on him; Rose's closest girlfriend included.

“This year we're starting off with a group project”, Mr Martin announced excitedly. A few groans and sighs erupted from the class, but the professor just laughed it off with a wave of his hand. “Which means, no homework!” he continued and this time the class erupted with cheers and claps. “That was the reaction I was looking for.” Rose smiled and a few girls giggled.

“You'll be working in pairs.” Albus and Rose looked at each other and grinned, but their faces fell instantly as the professor carried on. “I've already picked out the groups and I will not change them”, he said and started listing off the names. “... and last but not least, Mr Colden and Ms Weasley.”

Rose immediately turned to look at her new partner. Eric Colden was tall and broad shouldered, with raven hair and dark eyes. She'd never really talked to Eric. He was a loner and there were a lot of rumors going around about him being a drug addict and a violence junkie. He'd also been Gina's favorite victim. They'd hated each others guts and she'd pretty much made his life at Hogwarts a living hell.

“Now everyone, go find your partners and a table and I'll explain the project.”

Rose got up from her seat and went over to where Eric sat in the back. She dropped her pile of books on the table with a loud thud and sat down on the chair next to him.

“Hey”, she said with a smile, extending her hand to him. “I'm Rose Weasley.”

“I know”, Eric said as he turned to face her without even a hint of a smile. His eyes dropped to her hand for a moment as if considering if he should shake it or not. “Just as you know that my name is Eric Colden.”

Rose's smile dropped and she withdrew her hand. She had no idea what to reply to that. She felt stupid, but she'd just tried to be polite and friendly.

The professor clapped his hands again and Eric turned forward. Rose stared at him for another second and could swear she saw a small smile playing on his lips.

“Good”, Professor Martin said, a broad smile on his face. “Now that we're all settled into our twos, it's time for me to tell you what you are doing the upcoming three months”, he picked up a small bottle with a greenish content from his desk and held it up in front of them. “The task is to make a working Polyjuice Potion. At the end of the semester you'll test your potion by turning into your partner.” The professor waved his wand at the blackboard behind him. “You can all start now”, he said. “Instructions are on the board.”
