Harry’s first sexual experience was going to be with Myrtle in the prefect’s bathroom but I figured that people would take the ‘Moaning’ part of her name a little too literally and decided to drop it. Sex was never a huge part of the series and I wanted it to be special for Harry so I decided to keep him whole and pure for Ginny. The rumors about Hermione being raped in The Deathly Hallows were true at one point during my writing but I felt that it was much too dark and unneeded. I hadn’t kept Harry’s scene in Goblet so I felt it would have been inappropriate and out-of-place, no matter the darker tone of Hallows. - JK Rowling.
