"So, I know that there are amazing shippers out there and I can’t judge every clato shipper out there. I want to make it clear that I’m not judging EVERY SINGLE ONE OF YOU. I AM A CLATO SHIPPER. I HAVE BEEN HERE BEFORE THE MAJORITY OF YOU CAME ALONG. LET’S MAKE THIS CLEAR. SO IN MY OPINION I HAVE THE RIGHT TO SAY THIS.

So people say a solution is to not visit the tag. And while I don’t visit it, it’s still hard to avoid some of the stuff that pops up when you’re a shipper like me. And I run a clato blog, so I have to visit it once in a while to weed out the amazing posts, or else my blog would die out. I’m not giving up my blog. And I also don’t think it’s fair that I have to give up the tag because it’s been so polluted with really unrealistic roleplays, long and so out of character fanfictions that aren’t put under read mores, saying Clato is a cute couple, hate towards Glato, and other ridiculous miscellaneous crap that has nothing to do with Clato at all.
Okay, first off, I know I’m a hypocrite. I have an unrealistic fanfiction that’s even fluffy at points. And I hate it so much. But, come on. Them in high school? Them calling each other stupid nicknames? Getting ice cream? I think the whole spirit of Clato has disappeared. The whole ship has gone downhill.
What most shippers see are two people that are in love from a district. And that’s where they write all these really stupid AUs and crap. And I know I’m being rude but goddamn it I can’t take it anymore. Cato and Clove are not at all fluffy. Cato and Clove are not at all a cute couple. You may ship them, and you may think that they should be together but they are not cute. They are not going to have playfights over what color they should paint their baby’s room or anything cute at all. If they’re fighting, you better believe it’s either violent or using colorful language.
If you’re going to ship Clato, at least you have the right characters in mind. I don’t think a lot of you do. And I guess this is just my opinion, but I mean why, oh why, do you think that they would be cute and fluffy? Why? Where in the book or movie does it show that?
Which brings me to my next part. I hate those shippers that say- you don’t ship clato? You obviously haven’t read the book. Clato in the book wasn’t very obvious. It was heartbreaking for me as a reader to watch Cato beg for his partner to stay with him. But, as many people fathom, that does not mean they were in love. There are only a few places in the book where they hint Clato. There are only a few sentences or even a passage where they even suggest that they could have been lovers. But it is not written out in BIG BOLD LETTERS. It is not obvious. It is barely in the book. And it is not in the movie. Face the facts. It’s not in the movie. And you need to respect the rights of other shippers. Glato shippers get at least 50x more hate than Clato shippers. Glato shippers have a right to ship whatever they want. BECAUSE NEWSFLASH. THERE WAS MORE GLATO IN THE MOVIE THAN THERE WAS CLATO. There was not any Clato at all, except for subtle looks or them sitting together. That’s it. Get it in your head. Stop whining about Glato, we got it. You’re upset. I was upset when I first heard about it too. But that doesn’t mean that Glimmer is a slut. That doesn’t mean that Leven is a bitch. That’s so unfair to the character and Leven. So please STOP COMPLAINING. NO ONE EVEN TALKS ABOUT GLATO ANYMORE EXCEPT FOR YOU PEOPLE THAT COMPLAIN AND COMPLAIN ABOUT IT ALL THE TIME. STOP.
Also, I respect that you have the creativity to write a Clato story. I respect that you have the guts and time to post something. But please, PLEASE put it under a read more. Please PLEASE don’t write them TOO out of character. I like to say that I respect the rights of shippers but I have been broken. I have snapped. Stop.
Oh, and one last thing. STOP REPOSTING. There are more reposts in the Clato tag than I have ever seen. And, okay, I stopped visiting the Clato tag, but that doesn’t mean that reposts don’t show up in my dash. I have been in the tag long enough that I know what’s a repost and what’s not. That I know when you’ve stolen something and when you haven’t. And sure, I haven’t kept my word about reporting people, but that’s because I’m lazy, and I’m not visiting the tag again. What goes through your mind when you save someone else’s work and post it? There’s something called a reblog button. I’m sure whoever you stole it from is flattered that you like their work, but you shouldn’t steal it. IT IS WRONG. THERE IS NO JUSTIFICATION FOR DOING IT.
I have to apologize if any of this offends you. I’m pretty sure it will. I might even get hate for this. It’s rude. It’s offensive. It’s me complaining. And there are a lot of shippers complaining now too, I get that. I’m sorry that I sound like a superior, arrogant, bitch. I hate arrogant people, and I hate that I’m acting like one by saying this. But I’m tired. I had to get this out. No one’s going to listen to me, but it feels good to finally get it out."
