He wrinkled his forehead. Why did she wonder? From what he knew there wasn't supposed to be any side effects. At least he'd never heard about them from his mom or dad. He hadn't noticed anything either.
"There's no side effects", he responded, his forehead still wrinkled. "Why?"

“Nothing, the trick is apparently to get over myself” she said and grinned. She just had to, he had laid that one up perfectly. She looked at him, hoping that he got that she was joking. It had seemed as if he had loosened up when it came to her joking, maybe he had started to understand her humour, or maybe he just didn’t care.
“So, next is Care of Magical Animals, right? I think we’ll be in the Forbidden Forest today” she said and smiled.

He didn't get her joke at all. He understood that it was a joke - but he just didn't understand it. He didn't say anything about it though.
"Uh, Audrey", he begun, looking over at her. "I don't have Care of Magical Animals." Where did she get that from? He had never attended a lesson in that subject - animals were not one of his interests at all. He didn't blame her though, Care of Magical Animals was a popular subject and it would be almost impossible for her to keep track of every student that went there.

Well, at least he didn’t get mad. He was the one who had told her to get over herself, maybe he didn’t remember. She shrugged.
“Okay, never mind then, I’ll see you after. They can’t expect for one of us to skip our class” she said, walking out to the entrance hall. The only reason she took the subject was because she needed it to become a doctor, for some reason. It wasn’t animals she was going to treat, but she needed it anyway. She got really dizzy, and it took her a few times to open the huge oak doors. She hoped no one saw that. She went down to the edge of the forest, and met Eric, who also had Care as a subject.

He nodded and said goodbye for then. His next class, which was Arithmancy, started in fifteen minutes. He had mixed feelings about the subject. When he got everything right, he loved it, but when he got something wrong, he hated it. He spent the fifteen minutes roaming the halls, looking after lost students. Not that he'd help them if he found any - he was still quite grumpy. When there was just a few minutes before his class started he worked his way up the stairs and ended the quite empty classroom. Not many students chose to read Arithmancy on this level - it could be a pain.

When the class was over, Audrey walked to the castle together with Eric. They stood in the entrance hall, talking to each other and waiting for their partners.
“Something’s wrong, tell me” Eric said and looked at Audrey, who sighed.
“I took the potion I got from the teachers, and the side effects are killing me. I’m all dizzy and my vision is blurry. And on top of that, Noel is being a weirdo and won’t tell me why” she said and sighed. Eric shook his head.
“Well, don’t take the potion tonight, and see how it is tomorrow. About Noel, just try and be nice” he said with a smile. Audrey gesticulated.
“I am being nice! I even took him aside to ask what was wrong, but he didn’t approve of my nice attitude, apparently” she said and sighed.

It felt like the class went on for hours and hours... It caused Noel a mayor headache, which only made him grumpier. He slowly left the classroom and worked his way down the (too) many stairs. Stairs sucked. Hogwarts sucked. He wanted to go to bed, sleep, never meet Audrey, William or Klaus again. Everything would be just fine then. He came down to the Entrance Hall and found Eric and Audrey standing next to each other. He approached them.
"Hey", he said, sounding quite grumpy. He couldn't help it. Him being grumpy from the beginning and on top of that, a headache. How could he possibly sound happy?

Audrey acknowledged Noels presence, but didn’t say anything. Eric, on the other hand, smiled as usual. Social skills were in his blood.
“Hey, Noel. What’s up?” he asked, and Audrey thought for herself that it was a very unnecessary question, since his tone told him that he was being a boring grump. He thoughts were wandering back to the night before, and the bathroom. The aura had been so different between them, and now it was so tense. She hated this up and down feelings, it was really annoying.

The lack of greeting from Audrey's side kind of stung in Noel. Not that he should've been so surprised - he had, and was still, been a grumpy Prefect the entire morning. He turned his face from Audrey to Eric.
"Ugh, I have the worst headache", he muttered, sighing.
"Arithmancy." He continued, as if it explained everything. It probably did. Many students were literally scared of the subject - many of the people who read it tended to become wrecks after class.
"You?"

“Oh, that sucks mate. Both of them. I'm very well. actually.” Eric said and smiled. He nodded towards John, who was waving.
“Well, that’s my cue” he said, giving Audrey a hug and smiled before walking over to his partner. Audrey turned to Noel.
“So, just get over yourself and let’s go” she joked, and nodded to the Great Hall, where she could smell food. She was very hungry; she had missed breakfast, after all.
