New generation benders

Herkio nodded. "Yeah, she has helped me many times. And I always have company" he smiled. He had also used her to deliever messages many times. She knew the way home and to many more places. It was really handy.
When the door opened again, he excepted a fire bender, but what stepped in made him a bit suprised. A air bender? They where still a bit rare. "No, you didn't interrupt" he smiled towards her and got up from the sofa. "I'm Herkio, an I guessed you won?" he wondered and came up to her. She seemed nervous so he contineud to smile.

"I'm... Hye and yes, I won." Hye said and Ela didn't bother to arise from the sofa. It wasn't her problem, this Herkio seemed to be a friendly sort though. There was a waterbender, earthbender and now an airbender... so they were waiting for the avatar and the firebender? The avatar, all she knew about him was that he was an earthbender and Ela didn't like those. They all thought that lavabending was some sort of... oddity, not worth their time. She was destructive which she had shown on the arena. However, to be frank she wasn’t about to stay just to be talked down by the avatar who probably believed he was so much better than her. Not only was he a “true earthbender” he was also the damn avatar. She let out a sigh. Ela noticed Hyes pretty bright eyes looking at her.
“I’m Ela.” Ela said just to clarify and Hye seemed to be relieved of the notion. A firebender, that’s what they were waiting for. Hye seemed to be fairly interested in the bird however.
“That’s a dove, they’re seen outside the air temple sometimes… I’ve never seen one up close.” Fascinated, that was the correct word. Her voice was slightly high pitched and she could see her little brother in those wondrous eyes. A grown up child? Perfect, just what a fearsome team of benders needed.

Herkio smiled towards her. She seemed a bit more relaxed now. "Nice to meet you" he said and glanced back at Ela. She didn't do anything. Maybe she wasn't the social type. "I didn't think there were going to be an airbender here with us" he said and studied her. She was clearly a airbender, he saw it on the blue arrows and her dressing. And people could easily tell he was a waterbender with his clothes, tho he had shorter arms on his clothes now due to the fact it was so much warmer here than where he came from.
"Yeah, it's a Dove, she's namned Eis". He smiled once more and let her look at his bird a while before he returned to the sofa. "So now it's just the firebender..". He actually sounded a bit annoyed by that. He had never liked firebenders, he had never met anyone that he had liked. Fire and water didn't mix to well.

“Oh, I saw him, he’s friends with the Avatar I think.” Hye said and tugged at her long hair. “He won his feat though, he fired electricity at his opponents though.” She continued.
“You’re pretty observant aren’t you?” Ela said from her sofa. Hye turned to her and blushed.
“I’m sorry… I babble a lot.” She excused herself as the door opened again and she jumped to the side as the firebender walked in. He was dressed in red and yellow… just as expected and Ela was surprised.
“Ryuu?” She asked from her seat and he turned to her, at first he seemed confused before a flash of recognition came across her face.
“Ela?” He replied as he passed the two other benders to hug her. “Long time no see, where have you been?” He asked as he stopped the hug.
“Traveling.” She replied with a grin.
“Don’t lie, you picked me off just a few months ago with your freakish lava bending.” He replied and crossed his arms. Ela rose from her seat.
“And you burnt me so bad I had to see two healers, I think we’re even.” She replied still grinning.
“Wait, you know eachother?” Hye said and seemed surprised. “Wow, that’s got to be such a coincidence.” She continued.
“I’m Ryuu, I know Ela, I saw your fight Herkio and you are… Hye?” Ryuu said and pointed at the persons as he said their names. Hye nodded. However Ryuu turned to Herkio. “You’re really good with ice.” He continued and Ela sat back down.

"Oh great" Herkio mumbled. The firebender was friend with the avatar. Not weird he had won then. Maybe he was a bit unfair in his feelings towards firebenders, but the times he had met anyone of them they had always been rude and someone had tried to burn him.
He didn't really hear what Hye and Ela said since he was lost in his thoughts, but he was dragged back to reality when the firebender walked in. He didn't smile this time, just observed him. Another male then. Two female and so him and this guy. They atleat had all elements now. And now it was just the avatar they where waiting for.
He listened to the guy that was namnet Ryuu and Ela. They knew each other. Well the world was smaller than people thought. He was quiet until the firebender talked to them. And to him personally. "Well, I'm Herkio" he confirmed and slowly nodded. "Thanks, I have practiced many years". It felt weird to hear that from a firebender. "So now we're all here, were is the avatar?".

"Yeah, where is he?" Hye asked as some kind of echo.
"Chill out, he should be coming shortly." Ryuu replied and crossed his arms. "He got caught up with his old trainers." He continued. "A bunch of old bastards who just want to use him if you ask me." Ryuu mumbed and Ela chuckled slightly. Ryuu gave her a flirtatious wink and a smirk which Ela basically dismissed. Ryuu was a womanizer and he was when she met him the first time too, Ela didn't care then either.

The door opened again and a boy in their age and some old men came in. The boy was the avatar and the old men was probably his trainers. Actually there was an old woman there too, seemingly a waterbender. Ela prepared herself, soon she was getting the hell out of here.
"This is Avatar-"
"I'm Bipin." The boy presented himself.
"Avatar Bipin." The same old man corrected him and Bipin shrugged slightly. The old man who was probably a firebender put his hand on his shoulder. Ela shook her head and sighed loudly.
"Silence, lavabender." The old earthbender said as he almost spat out the last word.

"You're all here to be the avatars new trainers and companions as he travels the world." The waterbender said calmly. "You've been chosen because you're the winners and skilled in your art." Bipin looked all but pleased really. Good, then it won't be as bad when Ela leaves him behind. She hasn't much to offer and lavabending... heck, just go to the Fire Nations volcanoes and her family will probably help him out. "You will use the flying bison Pema to travel." She continued... awaiting their respones.

Herkio felt a bit exicted, he was going to meet the avatar. Most of the avatars had done great things for this world and so had the people that traveled with him. And now he was going to travel with him as well. He hoped they would have a great adventoure. He noticed Ryuus wink towards Ela and felt a bit irritated, they where going to travel with eachother for atleast some months and if one of them were just going to flirt all the time it would be long months.

He looked up as the door opened again. He first studied the old people. Trainers. The water bender lady looked really nice and calm. She reminded him some of his grandma. And the other two were fire and earthbenders. He then looked at the Avatar himself. A boy their age, earthbender. He listened to him presentate himself and smiled towards them all.

"I'm honored to meet the Avatar and his great trainers" he said warmly and sank his head down a bit, a sort of bow. He looked up again and now looked directly at the Avatar. "I'm Herkio. And I wonder, how much can you bend? How much have you tried?" he wondered. It would be fun to train someone that didn't know much about waterbending, but a bit hard as well.

"Bipin can bend earth, metal and fire. Nothing else." The earthbender said as response. Bipin sighed heavily. Ela could do nothing but agree with him, these trainers were a true nuisance.

"Hey, if we're going on some trip around the world can we get going?" Ela asked and crossed her arms.
"I like that plan." Ryuu said smiling at Ela.
"Or at least leave me alone with them so I can talk to them." Bipin said and put his hands in his pockets. The trainers were about to protest when Hye spoke up.
"It'd be easier for us to speak freely if we spoke only to him as well." Hye said smiling sweetly... and dumbfounded. She must be some kind of manipulative devil though as the trainers left the room. She could be just lucky as well. The trainers walked out and a man came in and dropped of packaging before leaving the room as well, closing the door.

Silence.

Herkio nodded slowly. It would be fun to teach him waterbending then, but extra hard since he had learned the element that was it's opposite. But he was going to learn.

He nodded with that Ela was saying, he wanted to get going as well. And he actually smiled when Ryuu agreed, maybe they would just let them go now. But they just left the room. He guessed that was enough.
He looked at them all when the trainers where gone, silence. "Well..." he finally started to say and slowly petted his dove. "I'm Herkio, as I said". He took a step forward. "And I mean... shouldn't we just get going? There's nothing left here, everything is done, isn't?".

Ela walked up and took her packaging from the floor. She put in on her back before walking to one of the windows.
"They kind of have our flying bison in platinum chains so that we can't get away before they say the word." He said with a sigh. Ela figured that out herself. She brought her rock out from her necklace.

"What are you doing, Ela?" Hye asked cautiously and Ela turned to her with a grin.
"Nothing remarkable." She replied and broke the lock of the window and opened it. "Just getting out of here before the oldies comes back." She continued with a wink. "I just came for the fight, not to be some pompous earthbender's roommate." As she said this she jumped out the window and landed on the ground outside.
"Damn it, Ela!" She heard Ryuus voice from the inside as she started running to one of the house's walls.
