Friggas eyes were intensely focused on her youngest son, she wished to give him all of the attention in the nine realms, to allow the boy to speak freely to her, as he once had done. She watched him carefully, she had not meant to move her hands, she simply had, from hurtful words. She had never been overly sensitive but she did feel grief and hurt to see them argue, even for the slightest things. Her eyes locked with her son's green ones, she adored them, those eyes that had gazed at her in innocent wonder from her bosom. Her eyes shone with unshead tears, which she wished she could hold back."You are not a monster, you are my son, my Loki." Her hand extended to touch the boy's soft dark hair, to try to comfort him and she knew no other way.She gave a soft comforting smile at the boys apologetic words but her attention was cut short when Thor walked in. A soft internal sigh escaped her as the blonde walked in gleefully, carriying books, to try to make his brother's stay in this room more beareable.
Frigga opend her mouth to speak but was interrupted by Thor once more.
Thor's loud voice seemed to echo in the room. "Have you not hurt her enough?!" He started while his hand found itself grasping Mjölner as if he was preparing to strike at any moment. The very moment those words left his lips , he regretted it. He watched his brother's face for a reaction but his focus was directed towards his mother's hand which was ontop of his own, it grasped his hand, urging him to let go of his weapon.
Frigga could not watch them fight , she did not wish them to, for any reason, so she grasped both of the boy's hands and squeezed gently, bringing them closer to her chest. "Enough." she spoke softly, almost pleading with her sons. Her eyes were closed, she dared not to look at either of them, afraid that her eyes would give away her sorrow.
Thor mearly sighed as he tried to calm himself. "I would not have - " he started but was cut short.

Loki had watched his mother when she had spoken, perhaps she did love him after all… He had seen how close to tears she had been and he desperately wanted nothing more than to comfort her. For a moment he truly wanted things to be as they once were when he had been nothing but a child.
Life had been much simpler then. When Odin had shied away from showing affection his mother had done the opposite. She had always been there for him. However, Loki was not a child anymore. He had grown up and he had discovered the truth of who he was. Even though he might want to linger on to the past, he could not. Perhaps he had changed or perhaps his true self had been beneath the surface all along. Either way, his mother was the one who almost knew him the best… but the fact remained that he was the one who truly knew who he was.
Loki’s thoughts and his interactions with his mother had been interrupted once Thor had entered the room. Loki would never show vulnerability when he was around, that he had shown it towards his mother was even rare these days. He had been so furious when Thor walked in, could his brother bother to knock perhaps? Thor had an ability to always interfere with his plans. If it wasn’t for Thor, Loki would have been ruler of Midgard by now. He and his stupid Avengers had ruined it. Laying on the sofa still, Loki turned his head and looked at Thors raised hand in which he held Mjölner. He was about to speak but his mother beat him to it. She took hold of both of the brother’s hands and squeezed them gently. Loki looked away… He did not want his mother to show so much affection when Thor was around, yet he remained silent instead of speaking his mind. It would probably have stayed that way, if Thor had not spoken those last words.
“So you would not have used your precious little hammer on me, would you brother? You are a coward and you’ve proven to be the fool I’ve always taken you for!”
“Come on… swing it at me! I know you want to!” Loki’s eyes went crazy as he gave Thor his most hateful look. He could not help but provoke his brother.

Her eyes opened and her gaze moved towards Loki, her eyes begging him not to speak but it was too late. She felt Thor's hand slip her hers and it clenched at his side, as if he tried to restrain himself from hurting his brother. His hand moved towards his hammer once more, but he made me attempt to raise it, he would not, he had learned some control during the time Loki had been lost and thought dead. He tried to control his voice but it came out harsh, similar to his father's , much to his dislike. Thor wished not to but he could not help but to mention their mother, since it was the one think that Loki still seemed to cherish. "No..not infront of her! I refuse to hurt her, you think yourself as some betrayed child but Mother and Father did not leave you out in the frozen wasteland to die!" Frigga's low and appalled gasp did not stop Him. "I would give my life for you Loki , a thousand times over, you are my brother ..but you have become cruel and cold." He uttered the words in a rage, not thinking of what he spoke of, not that he ever had.
Frigga's hands were placed on Thor's shoulders. "Go, now , out and calm yourself." She spoke in a stern tone.
Thor stared at her for a moment as his own words had sunk into his mind. His eyes quickly moved towards his brother, to search for an reaction, he wished that Loki would understand that he had spoken those words out of anger, truthful as they might be ,he had not meant them.
Frigga usherd the God of Thunder out of the room before Thor had had his answer. "Loki, I did not -." He started but his mother's voice interrupted him. "Thor, go , it will be well." She said and smiled softly towards him as she closed the door, returning her attention towards her other son. She walked slowly back towards him. "Loki." she said his name quietly once, awaiting a reply as she stopped by his side. She did not speak , only waiting for him to. She knew that he was no child but she loved him and did not wish for him to be upset, she never had. She placed a soft hand on his shoulder , squeezing it gently, to reassure him that she would never leave him nor stop loving him.

Loki’s mad gaze stayed upon Thor and his hammer. He waited for his brother to make his move… Why did he not lift it? The Thor he once used to know would have jumped at the opportunity to be in a fight. But he had changed and it was rather irritating. Thor wasn’t as easy to read now, as he had been before. Though he still acted like a buffoon in Loki’s eyes.
What Thor did not know was that Loki now depended on him to raise his hammer against him if his plan was going to work. Loki did not plan on staying in this ridiculously tiny room, that was in no way suited for a god and he certainly did not plan on facing his trial. He could only speculate on how his so called father would punish him, if he were not to be punished by losing his life… it would for sure be something that was equally unpleasant.
It wasn’t that being imprisoned frightened him… but the fact that he was to be locked up somewhere with common criminals, he who had been raised up to be a king and who did not deserve this punishment…. it made him full of rage. This really showed how his father truly felt about him. That Loki indeed was no son of Odin! Loki could not help but wonder if Thor would have been treated this way, had he done the same actions as he had… Loki did not think so!
Loki waited once more for Thor to swing his hammer, but his brother stayed the same. His plan was that if Thor was distracted, he could easily light out of the room, since he figured the guards had probably been removed by his mother earlier. The tricky part was to fool his mother, she was not an easy woman to fool… but he had to try! So why did Thor not lift his hammer!? Loki was about to say something equally upsetting as the last words he had uttered, but his brother beat him to it. He listened and took in every word that his brother said.
“I’m so very grateful towards father for not leaving me on that rock, no I truly am!” Loki said sarcastically.
“Perhaps it would have been best for all of you if I had been left there to die! Then I would have been obviated for good and you would never have known me!” he shouted as loudly as he could whilst Thor was leaving the room.
Loki was so angry that it felt like steam was coming out of his ears. He was angry at Thor for saying those things and he was angry because his plan had not worked. He tried to calm down, but did not do so until his mother’s touch.
She was the only one who could manage his temper. They stood there for a while and then another plan took form inside Loki’s head. He turned his head towards his mother and looked at her. He carefully listened to hear if Thor had gone and he could clearly hear his footsteps walking away.
“Mother…” he said quietly and his green eyes locked with hers.
“Is it not time for me to be gone from this place? I cannot face father’s trial, who knows what he will do to me…” he looked pleadingly at her.
“If I am your son and if you love me as you say you do… you will help me get out of here. I promise I will be out of your life and disappear if that is what you want.” Loki continued to watch his mother, waiting for her response.

Loki's words echoed in Thor's ears. He had certainly not meant to say such cruel and horrid things to his little brother nor wished for such a dark reply. He strangled a cry of frustration and anger but without a thought, his fist had collided with the opposite wall, the sound echoed through the vast and empty gilded hallways. A heavy sigh escaped his lips before he stood up straight and marched with determined steps towards his father's throne room, to ask him once again to let Loki free, though he knew that the All-father would never agree or hear of anything involving pardon for his adopted son. For a moment Thor imagined him letting Loki escape, but he quickly pushed those thoughts aside as he muttered to himself; "Such childish thoughts." his pace quickened as he walked the ever familiar path to his father's throne.
Friggas chest tightend at Loki's words, she believed that a part of him said it to hurt Thor but the other part believed it. She would not have been happier without him, neither would Thor , nor Odin, though the man could not, would not show his emotions unless they were alone. She wished nothing more than to hold him as tightly as she could but he was stubborn, so stubborn, he saw everything but nothing of himself. She said his name again, it seemed to be the one this she could say at this moment. When Loki spoke his plan to her, she stared at him for a moment, with a soft sigh she spoke while grasping the boy's hands, tightly , she did not wish to let him go. "He swore that you would not be harmed ..please no more plans, fights, nothing more." Her voice rose as she continued to speak, breaking slightly but her eyes never left his. "I do not wish you gone, never , I have never regretted one moment since you came into my life." Her hands held on tighter, fearing he would slip through her fingers if she did not, with Loki it was possible. "I love you more than anything .." her hand moved up to touch his cheek, caressing it gently with her thumb. "but I can not help you to escape." she stared at his face, awaiting a reaction, but there was no fear in her eyes , no pity, but a mixture of love and grief.
Thor slowed his pace as he approached the throne. He dared not to speak until spoken to, the last time he had done that concerning Loki had not ended well. He waited for the All-father to speak as he stood infron of him.

Loki had to restrain his emotions when he received his mother’s answer. Why could she not understand and why was she so blinded by Odins morals? She had said that his father had promised not to hurt him… but could she not see that Loki simply could not stay here. Even if he did not have to face death as punishment, he was sure to face imprisonment. Did she really want her youngest son to be locked up for what would probably be an eternity if he knew his father correctly?
Loki could feel his mother’s burning gaze upon him, yet he could not return it. He could also feel her reassuring touch and how she was stroking her fingers against his cheek, trying to calm him. Loki felt so frustrated! He did not wish to argue with his mother, yet he could not help to be annoyed at her for not ever agreeing with him. Could she not help him? Could she not see how humiliating it was for him to just to ask her? His mother had an inner moral compass which he himself did not possess.
He wanted to take another vase and throw it against the wall yet again, but he didn’t. Loki returned his gaze upon her and sighed, something he rarely did.
“I cannot promise you that there won’t be any more plans or fights, oh mother… it’s as if you did not know me” he said and gave her his infamous crooked smile. After standing there for a long while, he squeezed his mother’s hands tightly before her turned away from her and went to lie down on the sofa again. Loki put his hands behind his head and said to his mother:
“I think it is time for you to leave now mother, I need to be alone… but do come again. You’ll know where I’ll be!” His voice sounded more spiteful than he had intended and he was about to mumble an apology but decided not to. Instead he stared up at the ceiling, not speaking.

Odin calmly stood up as his oldest son approached the throne. In his right hand he held his spear. With his one good eye, he rested it upon his son. Thor had grown up in the last two years, he had matured and he was now worthy to take the throne from Odin. But Odin knew that this wasn’t what his son had come to see him about.
“If your visit is to bring up the subject about your brother, you know I won’t change my mind, son!” he said with a firm tone on his voice as he walked the last few steps down the stairs and stood beside Thor.

Frigga did naturally not wish to see her son inprisoned like come criminal but he had performed criminal acts. She cursed herself for not being able to help him , to allow him to live a normal life, as he had, she knew that they could never go back to the way they were unless time would turn back but not even the All-father could bend time and space. Frigga stood her ground as he spoke and smiled at his sudden sincerity. "I hoped that you might have listened to me for once, at least regarding such things." Frigga smiled at the contact and she squeezed back, just as tightly. Her gaze stayed on Loki as he layed down. "I can come tomorrow , and we can eat the morning meal in the garden, if you wish it, but if you so need to be alone, I will leave." her tone did not change, regardless of his spiteful tone. Frigga bent down and lovingly kissed his cheek before saying a soft; "Good night." and making her way towards and out the door. Some newly arrived guards bow in her presence. The door closes and her footsteps fade away. Frigga made her way to the throne room, where she had no doubt that Thor had gone, she wished to stop him from doing something foolish or at the very least keep him from fighting with his father. When Loki had fallen into the abyss, Thor was devastated, she saw it, his friends did not, they were celebrating Odin's and Thor's returns nor did they seem to care what had happend to Loki.

Thor stood tall and straight, he would at least try to convince his father. "Father please, there must be a way, he is not well and keeping him in prison will do no good." he struggled to keep his voice calm, it would do no good to yell. He had a great respect for his father, but at times he could not help but to wonder how the man could be so cold towards his children. He banished Thor without a thought but he caused Loki to fall into oblivion and madness.
His hands clenched into har fists. "Do you believe that mother is enjoying this? seeing him in such a state?" he kept his voice low but his tone was challenging. His eyes locked with his father's to show that he would not back down. Thor had always been stubborn and fought for what he thought was right, to his last breath. Even if he was angry at Loki for all that he had done, he was still his little brother and Thor would not let him be harmed, by anyone apart from himself at least. A part of him wished to throw the dark-haired man in a cell but the other part wished for it all to go back to before he had been banished.
Loki had acted out of anger and hate but he did believe it was the right thing to do, to gain their father's praise, which was difficult even for Thor, the man kept far too much to himself, Thor of course did not. Frigga had scolded him so many times when he had let cruel words slip in anger towards people, mainly Loki, he had never thought twice about it as a child, or even now, words would slip and he would hurt his brother when he did not mean it.

Loki had felt how pleased his mother had become by his truthful words and he had also felt how she had squeezed back with all her might, once he’d finally shown her some affection.
He pulled his fingers through his jet black hair as he lay on the sofa and he was thinking rapidly. His first plan had not worked, nor had his second one, but he had not expected it to work really. He knew his mother, even if he had gone down on his knees to beg for her help, she would not have done so. Though she seemed to care for Loki, even seemed to love him… she would never betray her husband. But if his family had truly known Loki, they would have known that he never gave up. The truth was that Loki always had a back-up plan. He was not stupid, he knew the first two plans probably would not have worked; therefor he had made arrangements for a third plan, a plan that he would soon know if it had worked accordingly.
Loki was so wrapped up in his own thoughts that he barely noticed his mother’s words, but the words did sneak into his mind still and he replied by saying with a snarky voice:
“Well, you know me mother… I only listen to myself!”
Then he became serious, he watched his mother from the sofa. Cascades of her strawberry blond curls were hanging down her back. Her blue eyes radiated love and care and she watched him intently, waiting for his response. She looked nothing like him, yet she was the one who he could see himself in. To the surface they were so unlike each other but on the inside they were as similar as they were different. He realised in this moment that he might not see his mother in a long time, certainly not tomorrow, may it be never… if his back-up plan worked. Loki rose up from the sofa and took the few steps to stand in front of his mother. Once there he hesitated before he embraced her in a tight hug and said with grief in his voice:
“I would very much like to join you in the gardens tomorrow, see you then… and good night.” He stiffly let go of her and watched her close the door and then all he heard was the echo of her footsteps walking away…
Loki remained on the same spot, waiting for the knocks on the door that were sure to come. Not much to his surprise two knocks on the door to his tiny room was heard shortly after his mother had left.
“You may enter!” One of the many guards that were assigned by the All-father to watch over Loki’s every move, stepped into the room and closed the door. The guard was about to speak, but Loki stopped him by putting a finger to his lips.
“My mother has left?” Loki asked the guard, the guard nodded.
“As have my ignorant brother?” the guard nodded once again.
“Good, has everything gone according to plan?”
“Yes, we have the human women in captivity. On a secure place…”
“Where?”
“In Midgard…”
“Excellent!” Loki looked pleased.
“What should we do now?” the guard asked.
“Nothing, just wait for my order… but make sure my brother’s love interest does not escape!” The guard nodded again.
“Let Thor know that I wish to see him, tell him it is urgent!” The guard bowed in font of Loki.
“You may go!” Loki said and gestured for the man to leave. Once the guard had closed the door, Loki lay down on the sofa again and waited on his brother’s return.

Odin’s harsh gaze was upon Thor as his son spoke. His son was now a different man, but his strong love for Loki was what held him back. Loki was Odin’s son that was true, but he could not stop Loki’s trial. May he be his son… he still needed to pay for his actions. If Odin acted in any other way that would be unfair to all the many lives his son had taken on his journey to self-realisation.
Odin’s temper flared when Thor mentioned his wife. He pounded the spear loudly against the stone floor.
“Enough!” he yelled.
“I will not discuss this matter further! Loki will face his punishment; nothing you say will change my mind whilst I’m still king!” Odin turned away and walked up the stairs to once again sit down on the glorious throne, expecting Thor to leave him.

Jane Foster opened her eyes; all she could see was darkness. Unless her eyelids were still closed… nope, she was definitely sure that they were open.
She was lying down on something cold, wet and hard. When she tried to pull herself up she could feel an intense pain in the back of her skull.
“Ouch… damn it!” she cursed. The words echoed and bounced off the walls. Where the hell was she? She put her hand on the ground, it was rock hard and in fact it did seem to be made out of rock. Was she in some sort of cave? Jane tried hard to remember how she had ended up here. The last thing she remembered was that she had been in her apartment writing in her notebook when something had stung her in the head…
With much effort Jane was finally able to sit up, she was about to try to stand up when she suddenly heard voices from afar. Quickly she lay down on the ground again, pretending to be unconscious. The voices came closer and entered the cave.
“Still not conscious…” one of the voices said and laughed. Jane remained still and thought to herself, how the hell am I going to get out of here?

In the back of her mind Frigga knew that he was planning something else, Loki never did enjoy giving up and he was very clever, far too cleaver sometimes. She could not help but to worry what he would do next, what his plan was. Her pace quickened and her heart heavy, she blinked back tears. As she approached the throne room, she heard the angry voice for her husband. "Thor must have asked him about freeing Loki again..foolish boy." she thought and kept walking until she stood infront of the throne. Thor was too angry to think clearly, his father, who he had believed to be a fair man and king, would be so stubborn as to not think for even a moment about easing Loki's punishment. "Then you should not be king!." he almost screamed it in anger, he did not think , he could not, he simply spoke from his heart. "A good king would show mercy! he would not decive a child and then let them fall of the edge of the earth!" Thor panted, and stared at his father, he was so angry, he spoke the thruth, at least he thought so. "A good father not have said something other than 'No' to someone who simply wanted you to give them something, a moment of your time! but you said 'no' and it was your fault that he fell that became so lost to us!!" Thor could not stop himself, he knew that he should not speak to his father in such a manner but he had to say it. His hands very clenched tightly as if he was trying not to reach for his hammer, which he did on reflex. He stood his ground, not wanting to leave and his eyes never leaving his father's, he had not noticed the presence of his mother.

Frigga watched Thor as he spoke with a look full of sadness and unshead tears, she did not wish to cry but she could not help but to take in the boys words, unfair to his father but he spoke the truth, but he did show much more when they were alone, her and Odin. Her gaze drifted towards the All-father after their son had finished speaking, or rather yelling at his father.
"Thor.." her voice broke slightly and she touched his arm, she sighed heavily as Thor put his arm around her , pulling her into an embrace. She turned her head to look at her husband, she was awaiting his reply as much as Thor did.

A guard was making his way towards the throne room, in a hurried pace. He did not dare to approach the throne he waited for the King's approval.

Loki had gone from standing still in one spot in what seemed to be an eternity, to pacing back and forth inside the small room. Well it certainly may not have been seen that way to anyone else, but to Loki it was unnecessarily small and he felt like a wild animal trapped in a cage and could not get out. In a way he supposed it wasn’t that far from the truth, though he did certainly not think himself to be an animal, even if everyone else seemed to think so.
He wondered why his idiotic brother was taking so long… he should have been here by now. It made Loki enormously worried. Perhaps his plan would not work after all.
Out of nowhere, Loki came to think of a childhood memory. He remembered it well. He and his brother had been playing as well as practicing physical combat. They had been in one of the many grand hallways, in this particular hallway; portraits of their ancestors were hanging on the golden walls. Loki had remembered thinking whilst he and his brother had been fighting that in every painting he could clearly see his brother or his father in one way. One of them had the same nose as Thor whilst another had his father’s eyes. But he had never seen a resemblance between himself and the ancestors. He had found it a little odd at the time but had never given it a second thought. Perhaps there had been signs that Loki had not seen, perhaps it was his own fault that he had not realised who he was…
Loki threw another vase against the wall in rage. No! It was not his fault, his father should have told him the truth. It was entirely Odin’s fault not Loki’s!
The memory kept on playing in Loki’s mind… Thor and Loki had made their way to the throne room. They were so preoccupied by fighting that they did not realise that their father was there. Thor was clearly going to win, so Loki had gone to hide behind one of the many pillars, but when Thor came to find him he was not there. Loki suddenly appeared in the middle of the room and Thor came running into him, but Loki had disappeared. It had only been one of Loki’s many reflections. That was when Loki made his move, he came up behind Thor and wrestled him to the ground. Then Odin had stepped forward and stopped the fight.
“I won father!” Loki had said proudly.
“Not in the right way… it should have been a fair fight!” his father had said.

Odin sat very still on his throne, not saying a word. The boy needed to say these words he realised, but that did not mean that they did not hurt the old man. Somewhere inside Odin knew that he was partially to blame, but at this moment he could not see it entirely. Thor had indeed inherited his temper, but Odin had come to be able to control it over the years. Then his wife entered the throne room as well and embraced their son. Odin said with a stern voice:
“Perhaps I should not be king… but I am and you are not! Remember who it is you are speaking to! You blame me for Loki’s madness, but you fail to see that he made his own choices.” Odin’s gaze went to his wife, she looked as she was about to cry. He sighed loudly and rose up from the throne.
“Perhaps it is my entire fault…” he said quietly, more to himself than to his wife and son. It went silent for a while and then Odin heard someone approaching the throne. He looked up and saw a guard.
“Yes?” he asked.
