New generation benders

Herkio saw how Ela's dad walked off the ship and everyone followed, even him. They got to land. He felt a bit uncomfortable by being in the Fire Nation, but it was better than on the north pole. But he had a bad feeling inside his stomach, he couldn't determind what it was. "You're regretting that you left that girl on the north pole hm?" continued the spirit that was flying around him. "Shut up" he quietly mumbled so no one would hear him. He didn't want anyone to think that he had gone insane.
Soon they reached the buildings, people where cheering as they walked inside and Herkio got a glas of alcohol pressed to his hand. "No thanks I don't..." he started but no one was listening. He didn't drink so much, mostly because he eaisly would get drunk, and it messed with his bending. But he just sighed and took a big sip out of it and made a grimace. It was strong. But just some seconds after that his mind begun to feel better, the spirit was eaiser to ignore and everything was spinning a bit. He drank the rest of it before looking around, it was a real party.
He stood in one corner and looked around, maybe looking for someone he knew like Bipin or Ela.

Ela was sitting off the side in a corner scanning the floor. She was used to the liquor served around the room. Hell, when she actually lived here she brewed the moonshine the younger people were walking around with. Hye was out on the floor, dancing and Ela took another sip out of her drink. It burnt as it slipped down her throat. Ryuu dropped down next to her.
"Ela." He said and looked straight at her. Ela just lifted an eyebrow at him.
"Yeah?" She replied with a smile as she drank the whole remaining alcohol.
"Tell me how to pick up that hottie over there!" He begged and pointed at a girl named Ayia, a non-bender with magnificent black hair, piercing blue eyes and a beautiful curvy body to match. Ela laughed.
"What?" Ryuu asked.
"Become a girl." Ela replied and Ryuus jaw dropped. "And her wife will probably have to break up with her first." She continued and laughed even more. Ryuu sighed so loud that Ayia must've heard her.
"Why the hell is someone her age married?" Ryuu asked gloomily.
"She's almost twenty-six." Ela replied and laughed a little bit more. "I think she might want to dance with you anyway." Ela continued and Ryuu rose his head with a disgusted look.
"I don't dance with married women! What do you think about me!?" He said as someone came by and re-filled their glasses. Ryuu swept it up instantly.
"Ela, you can dance with me!" He said happily and Ela smiled a bit. Why not? She finished her glass and rose up and went out on the dancefloor with Ryuu. She also noticed Bipin walking over to Herkio who was off in the corner.

Herkio had gotten another glass and was already beginning to get drunk. But he was mostly a happy drunk, all his lined became a bit blurred, so he had more courage, but he hadn't done anything he regretted yet. Well he hadn't been drunk so much yet too. He soon spotted Ela. SHe was talking to Ryuu. He felt a bit irritated over that, he didn't know why. He had never really liked firebenders. BUt to be honest, Ela was one kind of a fire bender as well.
He watched them go out to dance and was just about to take another glass when Bipin got over to him. "Hey" he said and Herkio nodded and leaned against the wall. "Nice party? Are you having fun?" he wondered and Herkio just nodded again. To be honest he wasn't having too much fun yet, but maybe he just needed to relax more? "That girl has been staring at you all night" Bipin informed and nodded towards a cute girl, she had black hair that reached to her shoulders, green eyes and pretty thin, but very pretty. She smiled towards him and Herkio couldn't help but to smile back.
Bipin went away again and the girl got over to him. "Hi, wanna dance?" the girl asked and Herkio nodded with a smile. They got out a bit on the floor and started to dance. She moved her body against his and smiled against him. He smiled back as well and put his arms around her waist.
He was drunk, and he didn't really know how it happend but soon they where in the dark corner again, kissing while he ran his fingers through her hair.

(I'm just gonna skip the parts that doesn't involve Herkio kinda. xD)

Ryuu and Ela danced close as the music was slow and quick when the music went up-beat. They had fun, she was happy and drunk as hell. If she was really lucky her dad would even get her stoned before the big finale as well. Just as the music slowed down Ryuu and Ela danced so close that their lips almost touched when Ryuu suddenly stepped back and shook his head.
"Damn... I got so tired all of a sudden." He said and went over to one of the tables. Ela didn't think much of it, alcohol does that to some people anyway. She got off the dance floor though and saw Hye by another table with Ikal. Talking about something. She was falling asleep though. Ela knew Ikal, he wouldn't do anything to Hye. She didn't see Bipin anywhere and she turned to see something that didn't surprise her... from one point of view. In the corner she saw the maneater Akane and Herkio. She strided quickly and in all the noise quietly so that she stood behind Akane and grabbed her shoulder and pulled her back from Herkio.
"Hey, whore." Ela said with a smile.
"I am not a whore!" Akane replied and Ela rolled her eyes. "Of course not anymore. You can't walk around doing with they guys around here anymore since they all know you." She replied coldly.
"Shut up! You don't know me, you've been gone for a year!" Akane replied angrily.
"And you still haven't changed a bit..." Ela started coldly, painfully articulating every word. "... whore." She continued and the firebending girl slapped Ela who didn't really mind that much. Akane was weak in comparison to other hits Ela had taken.

Herkio knew deep inside that he shouldn't be doing this, atleast not with Akane. But he was drunk and just wanted to have fun, wanted to forget the horrible taste of Siku's lips. And even if this girl really tried way to hard to be likable so did he enjoy it, even if he never really had done anything like it before.
He felt her hands move upp his shirt to his chest and he closed his eyes and was about to give in totally when she was pulled from him. He opened his clothes and to his suprise saw that it was Ela that had dragged her away. But why? He heard what they said and just stood there confused, and with shame building within him when she hit Ela. She was about to hit again but he stopped here. "No" he said and sounded angry. "I think you need to go". She looked at him before walking away, looking for the next guy.
Herkio turned to Ela with shame in his eyes. "I'm sorry" he mumbled, he almost stumbled a bit upon his words because he was drunk. "I...I never do anything like that I promise, but...It was just so nice that anyone showed interest in me that wasn't that horrible Siku...". Somebody that had seemed to be normal atleast, but he had been wrong. He sighed before faintly smiling at her and looking around. "It's hot here, what about to take a walk outside?" he asked and started to go towards the door, but looked back to see if she was coming.

"It's allright, Akane hits like a three year old." She replied but followed him out anyway, maybe he had more alcohol resistance than the others? She hadn't even gone home, to her real home yet. She wasn't there much before leaving either... it was filled with too many memories. When they walked out the familiar smell of sulfur hit her again and a sudden realization struck. She hadn't ever kissed someone... well... she had kissed people. Just not... properly. Like kissed someone because she wanted to not some truth or dare-stuff. This realization struck her just a few hours before her very own death. Did she want to kiss anyone? Not really, no. She just felt like she had failed or something. Whatever. Her brain was scattering all over the place and as she looked around the empty village she didn't see any of the grown-ups. They had all left the party, she knew that much... were they all preparing for the ritual? Did they all need to be that ready for her death?
"Are you used to drinking?" She asked like a curious child. She didn't know what to talk about so she just blurted something out.

Herkio faintly smiled and walked outside. He was happy Akane was away now, because he didn't wanna waist himself on a maneater like that. He smiled when the cold wind hit his face and hair. He closed his eyes and just enjoyed it. He was still wearing water tribe clothes so he didn't freeze since they where all thick and made of fur.
He then turned to her and opened his eyes when he heard her question. "No not at all" he aaid and smiled. "I get drunk so easily". And he was drunk now. "I drank because I wanted to have fun, to relax a bit, and I have such a bad feeling about all this, I don't know why" he mumbled, actually a bit more serious. "Something feels so wrong, like something is going to happen. I hope I'm wrong". He looked at her and smiled and brushed away some hair from her face. "I hope you're having fun then".

Ela watched him closely as he spoke or rather mumbled. He wasn't wrong. She felt like telling him, like it would accomplish something. She was going to die and nothing would change that. When he pulled her haur away she blushed but she didn't notice it.
"Yeah..." She started but trailed off into silence. She turned her head away from him. "Hey, if you had to die to save the life of those you love, would you do it?" Ela asked uncertain and she didn't look at him. She thought that she would up until that moment when she stood on the edge of the volcanos' edge, staring down into it's gaping opening... the moment when she ran for her life. She thought that she'd gladly die for her people, that she'd gladly sacrifice herself for her people, her family, just like her mother did before her.

Ela was at the brink of crying, she didn't notice it but tears welled up and they fell over the edge in a flash. They stuck to her eyelashes, created tracks after themselves she was still looking away as the tears fell down onto her dress. She sniffled without noticing... she was too drunk to care. Ela didn't want to die, she wanted to be selfish... she just wanted to live.

Herkio saw her blush and smiled. He felt warm inside, mostly due to the alcohol. But also this, being alone with her. She had saved him from a horrible life and thanks to her they where traveling with the avatar. Traveling the world. It would be wonderful to travel with her and the others more.
He was about to say something else when she asked him if he would die for his loved ones. He thought about it for a while, being quiet. If he hadn't been drunk, maybe he would have said yes on the moment. Because that was the 'right' answer. But now, he didn't really know. Finally he answered. "I..I don't think so" he said. "I would try to do everything I could to save them but..I don't know if I'm ready to die for it. I know that it sounds wrong. But I don't wanna die, not yet". He became quiet and looked at her. Was it something she wanted to tell him? It almost seemed like it.

"But I don't know. Maybe I would do it, maybe not. It all depends". He was about to say more things when he saw tears in her eyes. "Ela!" he said and quickly got to her. "Schh" he softly said and put his arms around her and hugged her to his chest. "What's wrong? Do you want to tell me? I can help you, I owe you that" he mumbled and ran his fingers through her hair as he hugged her.

Ela started sobbing out loud when he hugged her, she didn't want to cry. She was to strong, she wasn't crying... she had accepted it. She really had, she had this time. She needed to die. What was she going to tell him? Just come clean? Was she drunk enough... not really. She didn't know what to say so she stayed silent and kept sobbing.
"She's going die, that's why she's crying." The familiar voice of Bipin said as he popped up behind them. "Her own dad is going to throw her down a volcano as a sacrifice so that the firebirds or whatever will stopp terrorising their tribe." He continued so calm and steady that Ela knew instantly that he hadn't drunk a single drop.

"You two didn't get drugged?" Ikal asked as he jumped down from a house roof. "That's new..." He continued and he could see that Elas eyes widened. "Calm down." He said as he rose his hands and did the forbidden... bended their blood. Not Elas, he didn't have a reason to bend a crippled soul.
