Chapter 1: Ten Years Later
It was a sunny day in the harbor of the small town called Rumero. The Oblivion had just returned after eleven whole years of being away. The captain, Evelyn Reed, had been troubled about going back after what happened to her beloved Eson. This city was the place where they first met twenty years ago. "Home." Evelyn simply said as she looked over the town from her ship. "Never thought we'd make it." Doctor Edmund Fast headed over to his captain and bowed graciously. "For how long are we staying, ma'am?" He asked curiously. "Not too long." Evelyn responded. "We're here to meet some new recruits, get supplies and..." She paused as she thought about what else she had to do. She wanted to visit the beautiful lake where she had her first kiss, but she was scared of how much things had changed over the last couple of years. "Captain?" Edmund asked. "Are you okay?" Evelyn snapped out of her thoughts and gave the doctor a faint smile. "Yes." She said. "I'm quite fine, thank you." Edmund knew there was more to it but he avoided pushing the subject further. Instead, he bowed again and left the ship. Evelyn sighed heavily. She wasn't sure if she was ready to go ashore just yet. Her feet trembled as she stepped down onto the bridge. "It's been too long..." She mumbled to herself. That's when Natasha Dayne, one of the youngsters of the crew, walked up to her. "Captain?" She said. "Do you want me to accompany you?" Evelyn gave the girl a smile. It was nice to have such a caring crew. No one had acted like this for her before the Storm War, nor had they acted like this during the past five years. However, they took care of her whenever it was related to the death of Eson. This she was grateful for. "Yes, please." She then said to the girl. "I was planning on meeting up with the new recruits. Would be nice with some perspective considering you've been in their shoes and know what it's like." Natasha smiled back. "Indeed I do." She said and began walking off of the ship. "I'm not sure if they'll be as young as I was though. I was just seventeen after all." The captain laughed as she attempted to get off as well. It was quite difficult for her. She kept looking down at the water and whenever she did the image of a falling Eson popped up in her head. It hurt, but she had to get through it. "Ten bloody years..." She muttered. "I'm never getting over this." Natasha shook her head with a painful smile on her face. "You will, ma'am." She said reassuring. "I know you will." Evelyn looked up and tried to ignore the water below her. She finally managed to get ashore and she breathed out. "Good job, captain!" Natasha cheered. "Now let's find those recruits!" They then began to walk towards a nearby inn. In the meantime... Young Talia Stae, daughter to Reyes Stae, was leaving her small house in the outskirts of Rumero. She had been living there with her aunt Clariana for her entire life since her father was rarely home because of his adventurous lifestyle. However, some years ago that changed. She had gotten a letter that her father had tragically died in a pirate attack aboard The Oblivion. She had taken it hard cause even though he was rarely home, he still had been a great dad. "I'm going to the docks now, auntie!" Talia yelled before opening the door. "I love you!" "Take care!" Aunt Clariana responded as she ran up to the girl and hugged her. "And I love you too, you little thing." Talia almost choked as her aunt embraced her. "Auntie... can't... breathe..." She managed to mumble. Clariana let go of her niece and patted her on the head. "Your father would be proud of you." She said with a huge smile on her face. "Although, I do hope you're careful. You're an elf after all and well... We're not treated so well and I'm not sure if there will be any other elves aboard that ship." Talia rolled her eyes. "I'll be fine, auntie." She said. "Now, let go of me." Aunt Clariana, who had began hugging her niece again, let go of the girl and let out a brief laugh. "Good bye, auntie!" Talia said and exited the house. She was looking forwards to meeting the famous captain of The Oblivion.

In a house that almost looked like it would fall a part. Dick Headley had just waked up. He mumbles to himself while he was dressing himself. He took his package with him and tried to sneak out of the house. His parents wasn't good and well he we was kind of running away from home right now but it wasn't bothering him at all. He sneaked out successfully. He looked back at the house with a smile. He was happy to finally being able to leave that rotten place.
"I hope I never will see that place again" He said to himself before hurrying to the meeting place. Meanwhile Ayala was walking around, She had sometime to spare since she was close to the meeting place. "it is going to be nice leaving this town...the others probably have given up looking for me so it should be safe to go out on the water again" said Ayala to herself quietly"then again I will probably meet them there sooner or later..." Ayala looked down and started to think for a moment. 22 feb, 2017 17:07 |

Captain Evelyn and Natasha Dayne reached the inn, but as they did, Evelyn hesitated. She had raised her hand but she quickly lowered it again.
"Captain?" Natasha said with a worried look on her face. "What's wrong?" Evelyn shook her head and gave the young woman a faint smile. "Nothing." She said. "Just a bit nervous." Natasha raised her eyebrows in shock. Evelyn was rarely nervous. Most of the time she was an extremely determined woman with great courage. She never showed her fears or weaknesses, unless... "Are you afraid of meeting Eson's family?" Natasha asked quietly. The smile on Evelyn's face disappeared and instead she just stared straight ahead. She hadn't spoken to Eson's family in years. She had only sent a letter during the funeral that he had passed away. "Ma'am?" Natasha attempted to get a response from the woman. Evelyn glanced over at her and smiled again. "Oh sorry." She then said. "Come on. Let's get this over with." With that said, she opened the door and stepped inside. It was a dimly lit up by a couple of candles at every nook and cranny. It was quite cozy actually. In a corner of the building there was a young man with bright red hair. His name was Dhey Aldst. He was one of the new recruits that had sent letters to The Oblivion to request membership. He had explained his situation and had been accepted until further notice. So all he had to do was meet up with the travelers and join them. "Want anything else, sweetie?" One of the waitresses asked him. She had gone over to his table when she noticed that his drink was empty. "Ah no, thank you." Dhey replied with a polite smile. "I'm just waiting for someone right now." The woman nodded and grabbed the empty mug. "Let me know if you change your mind." She then said and left. Dhey just looked after her. Pretty, he thought to himself. Meanwhile, on a road outside of Rumero, Talia Stae ran quickly to reach the harbor in time. She had been told so many stories about The Oblivion and she refused to miss her chance to board the famous ship. "Just a bit longer..." She mumbled to herself as she passed fields and forests.

Headley had finally reached the meeting place, he stoped outside for some seconds and started to think for himself.
"this is the place...I guess..." Headley mumbled to himself a bit nervous" I can't chicken out now..." Headley shook his head and stared at the door intensely. Ayala soon got there as well, She noticed Headley. With a confused look on her face she walked up to him. "you know doors don't open by them selves so staring at it won't help" Ayala said " or are you waiting for someone ?" Headley just shook his head again. "I...nevermind" said Headley still staring at the door. Ayala raised one eyebrow. "ooookey?" she simply said before opening the door and walking inside. Headley looked at Ayala who soon was out of sight. Headley sighed and tried to calm himself. "okey you can do this...Its just a door"said Headley and took a big breath before walking inside as well. 23 feb, 2017 06:05 |

Evelyn and Natasha walked through the building. They kept their eyes open for the recruits. Then they saw one. The redhead in the corner.
"That should be Dhey Aldst, the man who sent me letters about joining." The captain explained. "He looks a lot more fit than I had expected." Natasha nodded. She too had imagined the man to be more of a skinny guy with no muscles. After all, in those letters he had made himself quite clear that he grew up on the streets with no family and barely any food to eat each day. It was very surprising to see him with such a strong build. That's when he looked up and saw them. "Oh shit, we've been noticed!" The captain exclaimed. Dhey stared at the two women in utter confusion as he couldn't hear what they were saying but could see their strange movements as they threw around their arms like some baboons. What the hell?, he thought to himself. "Quickly, Tasha!" Evelyn almost shouted. "How do I look?" Natasha shook her head and laughed. "Crazy." She then said. "You're acting out of character, captain." Evelyn calmed down and realized how foolish she must have looked just then. She's not usually like this, however being back at this place has made her feel like a teenager again. A very crazy teenager. She took a deep breath and walked over to the redheaded man, soon followed by her companion. "Dhey Aldst?" The captain asked. The man nodded. "Are you the captain of The Oblivion?" He asked, still with a confused expression on his face. Evelyn glanced over at Natasha in panic. He must think I'm such a maniac, she thought. "Yes..." She said after a brief moment of silence. In the meantime... Talia Stae had reached the city of Rumero and quickly ran towards the docks.

Ayala looked around a bit curious, She looked back and noticed that Headley had walked in as well.
"Oh hey you actually did get in here good jobb" Ayala Said smiling. Headley stared at Ayala a bit irritated. He was hoping that she wasnt one of them who was going with the ship. He tried to ignore Ayala for now, but it was rather difficult. "So you are going to ignore me now?" Asked Ayala and sighed. 23 feb, 2017 13:15 |

Dhey Aldst stood up and reached his hand towards the captain.
"Well, it's a pleasure to meet you." He said. Even though he thought the two women had acted strange, he didn't want to appear rude. He couldn't let himself screw up his chance of becoming a member of the Oblivion's crew. Evelyn took the redhead's hand and shook it. "A please to meet you too, Mr Aldst." She smiled as she spoke. Meanwhile, Natasha took a step away and decided to have a look around. She wanted to see if she could find the other recruits.

Ayala yawned loudly, She was tired since she wasn't able to sleep well, She smiled a little when she started to think about the sea and all the wonderful feelings she used to have when she was out on the water.
Headley had decided to look around for a brief moment. He wanted to see if he could find the captain of the Oblivion. 24 feb, 2017 05:32 |
